Common signs that you're having HVAC issues include the blowing of hot air when your system is off, low air pressure when your system is engaged, bad smelling odors coming from your vents, if you observe leaks or stains on the ground under your vehicle, or if you are hearing strange noises when the HVAC system is turned on. All of these signs are indicators that you may be in need of HVAC repairs.

What can cause your HVAC system to fail?

There are many things that can cause your HVAC system to fail in your commercial truck or heavy equipment. Some of the causes of a broken HVAC system include:

- Leaking refrigerant: The compressor cools the refrigerant and keeps air moving all the time, but a leak can occur due to punctures or holes in the hoses or tubes. Metal corrosion, poor installation and other factors can cause refrigerant levels to decrease over time.

- An overworked compressor: The compressor is only meant to process gas, so when there are other elements present like air, water, dirt, or oil, it can contaminate the system, and make your system work harder leading to a possible failure.

- A condenser that is blocked or clogged: The condenser converts gases into liquids, which expels heat from your rig. Materials can build up over time, causing a layer of dirt and grime to form on the condenser’s coils. Your HVAC system will only blow hot air since the refrigerant fails to cool down.

How will the technician diagnose the HVAC issue?

There are many things that the technician at Iron Creek Truck & Trailer will do to diagnose the HVAC issues you are having. Some of these things include checking for leaks, looking for debris buildup in the system, and recharging the system to see if that works.

For all of your HVAC system needs, we encourage you to consider Iron Creek Truck & Trailer today. Our team is here and ready to administer HVAC repairs that allow you to get back on the road in comfort. Click here to find our contact information or speak with a representative.
